This training will broaden your understanding of grooming and exploitation.
We’ll focus on the needs of both young people and adults. You’ll hear input from Ann Craft Trust, the Child Protection in Sport Unit, and the radicalisation experts at Small Steps.
We developed this new course developed in response to requests from NGBs and Active Partnerships.
Who’s it for?
This training is designed for Lead Safeguarding Officers in NGBs and Active Partnerships.
Please be aware that there is a space limit in the room, so bookings will be limited to two people per organisation. Book now to avoid disappointment!
If you are unable to attend this date, we intend to repeat the session in 2020.
What to Expect
We’ll define ‘Grooming’ and ‘Exploitation’. We’ll make you aware of key motivators and the nature and presentation of grooming. This will help you to understand who may be at a greater risk of exploitation and grooming.
We will look at possible strategies and interventions to support individuals who may be at risk of, or are experiencing, grooming and exploitation. You will also hear about the lived experience of someone who has survived radicalisation. They’ll share their harrowing story from radicalisation to recovery.
Parking is free at SportPark.
Refreshments and lunch will be provided.
The event will run from 10.00am-3.30pm
