Free Seminar – Using the Power in Your Role to Create Safer and Stronger Cultures

As part of Safeguarding Adults Week, this free online seminar will be platform to discuss how practitioners can contribute to safer cultures in their organisation.

This is an interactive seminar that will include some input from staff at the Ann Craft Trust. We would really like to have a conversation with you about the issues that you face and good practice in creating safer and stronger cultures.

We encourage delegates to participate in the session verbally, or by using the chat function on Teams.

In this workshop we will explore:

  • Common themes in problematic cultures.
  • Lessons from safeguarding children and adults reviews and inquiries.
  • How it feels to have a concern and the barriers you face in reporting those concerns.
  • What you can do in your role to create safer and stronger cultures.

Bring a coffee and settle in from 10.15am! The session will start at 10.30am and be completed by 12 noon.

Our Speakers

Nicola Dean – Nicola is a Safeguarding Adults in Sport Manager for the Ann Craft Trust. She works with the Sport and Activity Sector to embed safeguarding adults and is involved in the Ann Craft Trust #SaferCultureSaferSport campaign.

Sarah Goff – Sarah is a Disabled Young People Manager for the Ann Craft Trust. Sarah has over twenty years’ experience in the fields of child protection and social care. Sarah’s interests include the impact of domestic abuse and child sexual exploitation. Sarah has contributed to leading research with disabled young people and works to encourage practitioners and organisations to consider how their practices and language can be accessible for all.
